Doing the work: Start, Done, photos

In the woods, Tasks is the list of what is yours today, nearest first, and the way to each place.

Finding your work#

The Tasks screen opens on what is Open for Me. The pills at the top change that: Who shows someone else's work or Everyone; Tag keeps one kind of job; the site chips keep one woods. Each choice shows how many tasks it would show.

Start and Walk there#

  1. Tap a task. Its page shows every place on it, how far away each one is, and the photos and notes.
  2. Tap Start when you begin. The clock for the task starts here.
  3. Tap Walk there. The map shows you and the place, with the distance, and updates as you walk.

Walk there: you and the place on the map, the distance at the bottom

Done#

Tap Done on the place. The sheet asks:

  • an after photo, optional, but the best proof there is;
  • what it was, one tap: Squirrel, Deer, Tree fall, Fitting, Drop line, Spout, Other;
  • how long. The app guesses from when you tapped Start, or from your last Done. Tap a chip or step it, or leave it empty;
  • a note, optional.

A task with several places is done when its last place is. Mark all done finishes them in one go.

When it cannot be done#

Tap Can't do and say why: need parts, need help, cannot find it, wrong spot, or other. The task goes to the manager with your note, and stays on the list until it is sorted out.

Reopen, share, cancel#

A done task can be Reopened with a note. Share a link to this task sends it by text to someone without the app: they can see it, start it and mark it done from the link. Cancel this task takes it off the list for everyone.

On a computer#

The task page on sapspyapp.com/tasks does all of this except Walk there and the camera: Done with the same sheet, Can't do, Reopen, Add photo from a file, and the history of who did what.
