Sugarhouse Log: what it is and where to find it

The Sugarhouse Log is the sap and syrup log in the Sap Spy app. It has two parts: the Sap Log, where every load of sap coming in is recorded, and the Syrup Log, where every barrel of syrup going out is recorded. A Season report adds them up.

It is free for every Sap Spy account during the beta.

Phone and desktop#

  • On your phone: log loads, pack barrels, print slips and labels, see what each supplier is owed. This is where the day-to-day work happens, and it works without a signal (see the FAQs).
  • On sapspyapp.com/log: the same log on a bigger screen, plus Reports, trends across every season, an Excel export, and an Excel import for past seasons and bulk entry.

Finding it#

Open the Sap Spy app and tap Sugarhouse Log on the home screen.

The Sap Spy home screen with the Sugarhouse Log tile marked

The Log's home screen shows this season's totals, the three parts, and the two things you do most: log a load and pack a barrel.

The Sugarhouse Log home screen

  1. Sap Log: every load in, who it came from, what it is worth.
  2. Syrup Log: every barrel packed, its label, where it went.
  3. Season report: totals, gallons per tap, what is owed.
  4. Log a load and New barrel: straight to the form.

Under the totals, Owed this season lists each supplier and what you still owe them.

FAQs

Yes. Loads and barrels you enter without a signal are saved on the phone and sent when you have one again. A barrel packed offline gets its lot number on the next sync, so print its label after that.

A season is named for the year it ends. The 2027 season runs from July 2026 to June 2027, so a March 2027 run and a December 2026 boil both land in the 2027 season.

Only you, signed in with your Sap Spy account, on your phone and on sapspyapp.com. A supplier sees only their own loads, and only if you send them their link (see the receipts article).
